STS-133 Rotating Service Structure Retraction (38)
DAY 1 - As a part of the NASA Tweetup for STS-133, these pictures were taken at the Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 using a Nikon D700 camera with both a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom lens and a Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5 zoom lens. Some images were made at the press site near the VAB and others within 600 yards of Launch Pad 39A. Those closer shots show Discovery being revealed on a launch pad for the final time in its historic and lengthy operational life. -

All images were made at the press site near the VAB.
